Life Journal Reading Plan
The Life Journal Reading plan was developed by Wayne Cordeiro and is designed to help you read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice each year.
A Bible reading plan can help you spend time in God’s Word and grow in your relationship with Him. Choose a plan below and follow along at your own pace. Each plan includes daily readings, but there’s no pressure to finish within a set timeframe. Read the passages in your physical Bible or listen to Scripture as you go.
Want a simple way to get more from your Bible reading? Try the S.O.A.P method—a practical way to slow down, reflect on what you’re reading, and respond to God.
S — Scripture
Read the passage and write down a verse that stands out to you.
O — Observation
What is happening in the passage? What does it reveal about God, His character, or His ways?
A — Application
How does this Scripture apply to your life today? Is there an instruction to follow, encouragement to receive, truth to believe, promise to hold onto, or correction to respond to?
P — Prayer
Talk to God about what you’ve read. Ask Him to help you understand His Word and live it out. Take time to listen, too—prayer is a conversation, not just a list of requests.
As you go through your day, bring to mind what you’ve read. Think about a verse, repeat it to yourself, consider what it means, and ask how it applies to what you’re facing. The goal isn’t simply to read the Word and move on, but to bring it back to mind and let it shape the way you live.
